RISE OF THE MACHINES

TASK:   Robot should trace a white line on black or blue background.

• Three bonus patches are provided randomly on the track. Each patch can give you bonus points when your robot runs over those patches as specified table below.

• The robot should automatically halt at FINISH line. (which will be same as white line to be traced)

• Straight part in the middle portion will not have white line which is to be traced. Here the robot is supposed to go in straight line till next turn from where white line reappears.

Cash Prize:

Winner : Rs. 7000/-

First Runner up: Rs. 4000/-

Second Runner up: Rs. 2500/-

Best Design:Rs. 1000/-*

Track Specification

• The track will be made up of wooden material.

• Non reflective colours will be used for painting the track.

• The track will be divided in 3 parts viz 

                             1. Simple       2. Medium     3.Difficult

• Simple and medium part will have white line on black background.

• For Difficult section background colour will be blue or black or combination of both.

• Track will have 3 bonus patches which will offer BONUS points.

• Difficult section will have random curves.              

Rules & Regulations

• Open to all Colleges & branches.

• Maximum 4 members are allowed per team.

• Entry Fee  200/-  per team.

• Number of finalists & elimination round will be decided at the time of competition.

• Robot should fit in box of size 20cm x 15cm x 15cm (excluding supply).

• No weight constraints.

• Point system will be as follows:

  Region	Objective Completed	Hand Touch Deduction
  Simple	40	-20
  Medium	60	-15
  Difficult	100	-10
  Bonus	20	---
  Halting at FINISH line	50	-25

• Supply variation not allowed.

• Any type of motor will be allowed viz electric, hydraulic or pneumatic.

• Any means to trace the line will be allowed provided it should not be destructive to the track e.g. explosive.

• Participants will be rated according to following formula:

                              Score={[Total Points/(Track Time)] - (5 x No. Of Hand Touches)}

•  In case of tie track timing will be given higher priority.

•  If tie persists robot design aspects will be considered.
